Tax on BONUS Proposed (Update 2).

   This is an Update to posts in this space on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 and on the morning of Thursday, December 10, 2009.

   France is following the lead of Great Britain.  France, too, will impose a 50% "one-off," or one-time, tax on Bonuses above a certain amount that are paid by banks operating in that country.  Ben Hall, "France to Impose Tax on Bank Bonuses" (Financial Times Online at FT.com, Thursday, December 10, 2009).
