Another Mediation Tool: Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Can Happen to Anyone.

  Another Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation tool is the valuable insight that Mortgage Foreclosure can happen to anyone.  See Damien Cave, "National Briefing/South/Florida:  Senate Candidate Faces Foreclosure" p. A12, col. 5 (New York Times Nat'l ed., Saturday, June 19, 2010).  In the linked newspaper article it is reported that one Marco Rubio, former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and currently a candidate for his party's nomination for United States Senator to represent Florida, is being foreclosed "after he failed to pay his mortgage for five months, according to court documents."  A spokesperson for Mr. Rubio's current political campaign  reportedly revealed that payments stopped on the mortgage "during a dispute with the bank."

  It can happen to anyone.  Good Mediators know that.  Lest we forget.

Cases like this can be so messy. Once there is already bad faith between parties it can be difficult to get everyone focused on coming to an agreement.
