Mr. Jameis Winston is the young quarterback of the Florida State University Football team. He is a star. Last year, he won the Heisman Trophy, one of the higher honors in college athletics. Unfortunately, this week Mr. Winston got caught shouting an obscenity of a sexual nature in a public room at F.S.U. Since the room was open to the public, other people witnessed it, but Mr. Winston admitted it anyway.
Mr. Winston was accused of rape last year, but the prosecutor in Tallahassee declined to bring charges against him. It is unclear to me from all the confusing press reports whether the once-respected Tallahassee Police arrested him, or not.
The Tallahassee Police apparently did arrest Mr. Winston on an unrelated shoplifting charge last year.
This past week, to set the scene for F.S.U.'s decision regarding Mr. Winston's current infraction, the nation saw the National Football League embroiled in accusations of sexual assault, child abuse, and related charges, and at least one each of an indictment and a criminal conviction.
F.S.U. decided that Mr. Winston's behavior warranted punishment and so they suspended him for one half of this Saturday's upcoming Football game.
Everyone cut their toilet seats in half. The half-a***d administrators from F.S.U. have come to visit!
